Dear Friends of FCA,
It’s hard to believe that I am going on my tenth year of being on staff with FCA. In those ten years I have seen God do some amazing things and it is truly a blessing to be part of this great ministry. God has grown FCA in the area and we have been able to have an impact in most of the schools in Cambria and Somerset counties. Each year we pass out 300-500 Bibles in our schools and 1000’s of coaches, athletes and students hear the gospel. While this is good, God is only just getting started and the impact is causing a ripple effect that is starting to reach beyond our area. It’s amazing that God has chosen Johnstown as the center of this ripple effect and not a bigger city like Pittsburgh. Many people have played a part in this impact. If you have volunteered, prayed or financially supported the Laurel Highlands FCA, you are a big part of the rock that has started the ripple here in Johnstown and I want to Thank You!
For some time God has been speaking to me saying that He wants to do something even greater. I was not sure what He meant but I knew something was coming. About three months ago my supervisor asked me to take on a bigger role with FCA. After praying and talking it over with my wife, Amy, I decided that this was the direction God wanted me to go.
I am excited to announce that I will be the Western Pennsylvania Director. This means my focus will change but I still get to do my job from here in Johnstown. FCA in Western PA is like Johnstown was ten years ago when I started. There is not a strong development of FCA outside of the Laurel Highlands FCA and there is a need for growth to further share the gospel through sports within the surrounding areas of Western PA. I am excited to see what God is going to do and I am humbled that God has chosen me for this role. While I am not leaving the area, I will be hiring two staff members to maintain the local ministry, one for Cambria County and one for Somerset County, while I focus on developing the larger area. Please continue to pray for me and know that your financial support is greatly appreciated. The need will be greater but not greater than what our God can do. He can do it even from a small town like Johnstown.
To God be the glory!
